Brunson House was constructed around 1860 and serves as an excellent example of the popular Greek Revival architecture in Arkansas during the time. It currently sits on 3.5 acres in Historic Washington State Park. The house is vacant and has not been occupied since being moved to Old Washington from its original site in Columbus, Arkansas.

WER Architects was hired by Arkansas State Parks to restore and convert the house to serve as an event center. The 1860 Brunson House will be fully restored, with the original front porch being reconstructed based on historic photographs. The house could serve as a wedding venue for smaller weddings, as well as provide meeting space for corporate retreats, small group conferences, conference breakout space or local organizations needing a place to hold meetings.

The Brunson house is named for its original builder/owner, Dr. Robert A. Brunson. The house was sold to a variety of owners through the years with the last owners being Edwin and Ruth Evans. The Evans family purchased the house in 1979 and donated it to the Pioneer Washington Foundation in 1984 to ensure the house would be saved. In 1987, the house was moved from Columbus to its current site in Washington, where it was set on new foundations and mothballed. Ownership of the house was officially transferred from Pioneer Washington Foundation to Historic Washington State Park.

The 1860 Brunson House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is currently being bid by the Arkansas State Parks to begin the phased construction.
