WER Architects shared findings from the multipurpose arena feasibility study at the UCA December board meeting. The new multipurpose arena would replace the 53-year-old Farris Center with a new 116,000 square feet multipurpose arena.

Preserve Arkansas announced the 2025 Arkansas Preservation Awards today. WER Architects is honored to be included, receiving the Excellence in Preservation through Restoration Award for the John and Alice Edmiston House in Cane Hill, Arkansas.

It is with a heavy heart that we are sharing that our founding partner, Charles Witsell Jr. FAIA, passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 81. Charles and Don Evans started the firm of Witsell and Evans in 1978 in two rooms in the back of Charles and Becky’s home in downtown Little Rock. Charles was a mentor and friend to everyone at WER and we are so saddened by this loss. Charles will be missed but the legacy he and Don created at Witsell and Evans lives on in the work of everyone that has and will be a part of WER.

The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory is set to embark on a transformative expansion with the construction of a new state of the art forensic science facility in North Little Rock. We celebrated at the 19-acre site in the Northshore Business Park with a groundbreaking ceremony.

Students and instructors gathered together in Canehill this week to restore the Historic Colburn Barn. We are so proud to be a part of this incredible project, and that John Greer, Mason Ellis and Lucas Strack have all gotten to experience such a unique and hands on architectural project.
