CENTER FOR INTEGRATIVE
NANOTECHNOLOGY SCIENCES
UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT LITTLE ROCK
The Center for Integrative Nanotechnology Sciences (CINS) was designed by WER in association with HDR to provide advanced analytical and research capabilities supporting science and engineering related to nanotechnology. The facility was developed as a highly specialized research environment focused on the analysis of the structural and chemical composition of nanotechnology-related materials, bringing together sophisticated instrumentation, laboratories, and collaborative spaces within a single facility.
The LEED Gold-certified facility incorporates specialized research laboratories and instrumentation alongside offices, conference spaces, and support areas for faculty and staff. The design was carefully developed to accommodate the unique technical requirements of advanced research while providing an environment that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing among researchers, faculty, students, and industry partners.
CINS serves as a collaborative research center accessible to researchers from universities, government laboratories, and private industry. The facility provides access to major analytical instruments and technologies in areas including electron microscopy, scanning probe microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and optical spectroscopy. These capabilities allow researchers to investigate complex material properties and address challenges associated with emerging nanotechnology applications.
As a unique research resource within Arkansas, CINS represents an important investment in the state’s scientific and technological infrastructure. The completed facility provides the specialized environments, equipment, and collaborative resources necessary to advance nanotechnology research while supporting partnerships between academia, government, and industry.
