MEET THE SUMMER INTERNS

We are excited for you to meet the WER Architects’ 2026 summer interns, Taygan Brooks, Ashley Sample, Kye Long and Henry Thomas! WER believes real-world internships are an essential bridge between education and professional practice, offering interns meaningful hands-on experience while bringing fresh perspectives, energy and inspiration to our team.

Taygan is a rising fourth year student at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, studying architecture with a minor in interior design. She is interning in our Fayetteville office. Throughout the course of her education, she has developed a passion for historic preservation. She is an involved student who loves to share her love of architecture through working design camps and being a course assistant. Outside of school she enjoys spending quality time with her friends, family and dog. Taygan is thrilled to learn and grow at WER this summer!

Entering her fifth year at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, Ashley is studying architecture with a minor in interior architecture. Ashley just wrapped up her 2026 spring semester abroad at the University of Arkansas Rome Center and is interning in our Little Rock office. She developed a passion for architecture at a really young age, as it combines two important values to her - design and bettering the lives of others. Outside of school, she enjoys being outdoors, going to church, and spending time with friends, family and her dogs. Ashley is excited to learn and be a part of the WER team this summer!

Kye is starting his fourth year of studying architecture at Louisiana Tech University and has a strong passion for the design process and visually representing his work through drawing and graphics. Outside of the studio, he enjoys staying active outdoors or in the gym. He also loves spending time with his one eyed cat, Uno, and exploring Little Rock this summer.  

Henry is a CTE teacher, specializing in teaching ad-design and media communications, for the North Little Rock High School and is joining us this summer through the STRIVE Educator internship through UA Little Rock. With his experience this summer at WER, he will adopt our daily skills to present to his students to use in the classroom to mimic real world industry scenarios and looks forward to learning and implementing everything that WER has to offer to his students this coming fall. When he’s not teaching, he enjoys reading, exercising and learning new things.

We are so excited to have Taygan, Ashley, Kye and Henry with us this summer and look forward to the creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm they will bring to WER. Make sure to stop by and say hi!
