Cleveland, OH – October 1, 2017 – WER Architects/Planners has received an OUTSTANDING PROJECT Award for excellence in educational facility design in the fall 2017 edition of LEARNING BY DESIGN, the premier source for education design innovation and excellence.

A grant totaling nearly $500,000 will help restore the historic exterior of Little Rock Central High School, one of 39 preservation projects across the country to receive funding through the African American Civil Rights Grant Program, the National Park Service announced this week.

The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith Windgate Art & Design building received a National educational facility award from the publication Learning By Design.

WER Architects/Planners is pleased to announce that James Meyer, AIA, LEED AP, has been selected by The American Institute of Architects to receive the 2015 Young Architects Award.

WER Architects is excited to announce that Conway High School was awarded with a 2014 Learning By Design Outstanding Project Award. WER designed and completed Conway High School in two phases, all built on the existing site of the school.

The new Southwest Power Pool Corporate Headquarters was awarded Gold level of certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. The Southwest Power Pool Corporate Campus is the 33rd Gold LEED Certification in the state of Arkansas.

The Trojan Grill on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus, has received LEED Silver certification. Trojan Grill is the first LEED registered retail space in Arkansas.

WER Architects received the Learning by Design “Citation of Excellence Award” for work on Jack Stephens Episcopal Collegiate Lower School.

WER Architects/Planners has been selected by Arkansas Business Readers’ Choice Best of Biz 2011 “Best Architectural Firm”. WER also received this award in 2010. Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas (HPAA) awarded WER Architects “Excellence in Preservation through Rehabilitation” for eSTEM High Public Charter School. Designed in the Neo Classical style and built in 1924, the Federal Reserve Bank Building in Little Rock, Arkansas was repurposed to provide a full functioning charter High School for 500 students in grades nine through twelve.

WER Architects/Planners has received the Quapaw Quarter Association “Award of Merit” for eSTEM High Public Charter School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

WER Architects/Planners has been selected by Arkansas Business Readers’ Choice Best of Biz as the 2010 Best Architectural Firm.

Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas (HPPA) awarded WER Architects “Excellence in Preservation through Restoration” for Lakeport Plantation, the only remaining Arkansas antebellum plantation home on the Mississippi River.

McGraw-Hill Construction Best of Awards are presented each year to celebrate and honor the country’s Southeast Region best construction projects. Three of WER Architects (Witsell, Evans, Rasco) projects received the Best of 2007 Awards.
